A Brownsville traffic accident occurred just after midnight on Friday, killing two and seriously injuring a third. A 21-year-old Junction City man, who was reportedly exhibiting reckless driving behavior and operating his vehicle while intoxicated, has been arrested for the crash and charged with two counts of criminally negligent homicide.
In the Oregon Live news article, the Oregon State Police reported that the 21-year-old driver of a Ford F-250 truck was heading East on Oregon 228 when he appeared to lose control of his vehicle. The F-250 then veered across the road into oncoming traffic, colliding with a Honda Pilot that was being driven by a 19-year-old male. The driver of the Honda, along with a 16-year-old passenger, died from their injuries. Another 15-year-old female passenger, who sustained serious injuries, was transported from the scene to a nearby hospital.
The 21-year-old driver of the F-250 was not seriously injured and is being held at the Linn County Jail.
