PORTLAND, OR – Many residents and businesses in north Portland lost power on Wednesday night after a car slammed into a utility pole this morning.

According to a report by KATU, the vehicle crashed into the pole at about 10 p.m. near the intersection of North Houghton Street and North Portsmouth Avenue.

Police say the car took out the power pole, causing an outage to over 4,000 PGE customers in the area.

It is unclear at this time if any injuries were sustained in the wreck.
