PORTLAND, OR – A man was taken into custody after he drove his vehicle into a small crowd and struck a police officer in Portland on Sunday night.
According to a report by KGW, a driver pulled up to a group of people near NE Prescott Street and NE Sandy Boulevard, had a verbal altercation, and then drove into the crowd.
The driver struck one police officer as the remaining witnesses jumped out of the vehicle’s path.
Fortunately, the officer that was hit did not suffer any serious injuries.
After a brief struggle, the suspect was arrested on charges of DUI, reckless driving, and resisting arrest.
