PORTLAND, OR – A man from Vancouver was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on I-5 in Portland last Thursday.

According to The Columbian, 61-year-old Keith O. Poppert, was merging onto I-5 from I-405 at about 7:51 a.m. when his truck hit a pool of water, and swerved to the right.

Poppert’s pickup then struck a jersey barrier and was broadsided by a tractor-trailer also heading north on the freeway.

Poppert was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
