“Who else could be named Richard Rizk?” As it turns out several people are.One is even an attorney. We share the same middle initial, “H”, adding some confusion. That Richard Rizk is from Williamsburg, Virginia. I hear he is a good guy, but he is not me and we are not related, at far as I know. One of his clients called me by mistake. I let his office know.

Another gentleman, who unfortunately looks somewhat like me, once sported a mug shot. He also is not me and is not related to me. Another is from Canada. He called me once, was very friendly, but he is not me. Another Richard Rizk is from California. And another is from Michigan.

I think I am the only Richard Rizk from Oregon. If I am not, I will soon find out. I first moved here in 1985 to attend Lewis & Clark Law. My Dad is a retired OBGYN and my Mom, a retired psychiatric nurse who is an international human rights volunteer. I am very proud of her. My brother, Mark lives in Tigard. He is a high level executive for a Japanese medical supply company and travels the world. My sister, who is also a very successful corporate executive lives far away, but I love her very much. I am happily married to a paralegal named Jill. She works at a much respected Portland civil rights law firm.

I learned insurance by working in and for claims. I was employed as a high level claims handler by Nationwide Insurance and I also was a disability and personal injury defense attorney for a subsidiary of Nationwide, Wausau Insurance. In total, I worked for Nationwide Insurance companies for ten years. I opened my own practice early this millennium, initially from Beaverton.

I am Richard Rizk. I am a lawyer whose focus is plaintiff personal injury claims and pursuit of insurance and employment rights for everyday people. I am not a medical malpractice attorney who sues doctors, nurses, medical providers and medical supply companies. I am an avid skier, enjoy mountain biking, sailing and have a big heart.

I have never worn an orange jump suit. Should you ever find yourself in Virginia fitted in such an outfit, I know another Richard Rizk who may be able to help you.
