PORTLAND, OR – Fire officials are investigating the destruction of five trucks early Thursday morning. It happened at a service shop, VH Truck Service Repair Shop, at Southeast Foster Road and 113th Boulevard.
The fire appears to have started on the driver’s side near the windshield of a semi-truck and then spread to two other semis and two other trucks.
All five vehicles were badly damaged.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire before it spread to the nearby buildings.
What Caused the Fire
It has not yet been determined what exactly caused the fire. The city’s Bureau of Environmental Services was notified because it appeared that some of the diesel that fueled the fire went into the shop’s drain system. We know that the diesel fueled the fire. But was it a mechanical issue or human error? It will be interesting to find out what the officials discover.
