The Rizk Law Video Scholarship Contest

The personal injury attorneys at Rizk Law know that college isn’t just expensive—the cost of college debt is crushing our college graduates. But our personal injury lawyers want to play a role in the solution—by bringing college costs down for one deserving student.

According to studentloanhero.com, the average student loan debt for 2016 graduates rose by 6 percent from 2015 to $37,172. Total American student loan debt topped $1.48 trillion—$620 billion more than the amount of debt that American carry on their credit cards. That debt forces many of our graduates to forego buying homes and cars, or marrying and starting families.

In some cases, the cost of college forms a barrier that too many promising young people cannot breach.

Yet a college education continues to increase in importance for young people who wish to achieve success in life.

As an investment in our nation’s future, Rizk Law is proud to announce an annual $2,500 college scholarship video contest. Details about the contest and how to apply follow in the information below.

The 2018 Video Essay Topic

To participate in the contest, each applicant must present a 2-3 minute video essay discussing the following question:

What, if any, legal, engineering, or social changes are needed to make “Vision Zero” (elimination of traffic fatalities) a reality?

How to Apply

To participate, applicants must be currently enrolled in or planning to attend an accredited United States college, university, or law school during the 2018–2019 academic year. People who wish to participate should send their video essay (YouTube format) in an email to Rizklawscholarship@gmail.com by 10/15/18. In the body of the email, applicants should include the following information:

• Your name, address, and phone number
• If you are younger than 18, contact information for your parents
• The name of the school you are planning on attending and your course of study
• The best way to contact you

Once the application period has ended, our staff will review the videos and choose a winner by 10/31/18. The winner will be chosen considering the following factors:

• Originality
• Creativity
• Feasibility

Scholarship Submission Disclosure

By applying for the Rizk Law Scholarship Video Contest, you agree to the use of your name, likeness, and video on our website, in our newsletter, and on other social media channels if you are chosen as our winner. Only one winner will be selected. In the event that the winner fails to respond to notification within 5 business days, the winner’s will forfeit the prize, and a new winner will be selected. The prize will be issued in the name of an accredited college or university of a winner’s choice and can be used toward any fees and/or expenses associated with the winner’s education.

All personal information collected from scholarship applicants will be used only for the purpose of awarding the scholarship.  No personal information be distributed, sold, or provided to third parties.
