VANCOUVER, WA – A man from Kalama was killed in a hit-and-run crash in the Woodland area on Thursday morning.

According to a report by The Reflector, the collision occurred at about 6:20 a.m. as 44-year-old  Leonel D. Lopez Tello was heading south on I-5 near Horseshoe Lake when his vehicle was struck by another.

Lopez Tello lost control of his vehilce and veered off the right side of the road and crashed about 30 feet down an embankment. It then rolled over the guardrail and became airborne before becoming submerged in the lake.

Troopers say Lopez Tello was wearing a seatbelt when the crash occurred. However, he suffered fatal injuries in the wreck.

No identifying information on the at-fault driver or thier vehicle is available at this time.
